Waterproof FAKRA Compatible MX66 Series Coaxial Connector

JAE has developed the industry’s smallest-in-class waterproof coaxial connector compatible with the standard FAKRA interface, the MX66 Series, for use in applications such as ADAS and connected cars.
Recent implementation of technologies such as ADAS and autonomous driving, as well as connected cars has resulted in an increase in the volume of information and high-definition digitalization. Along with this trend, connectors are not only required to be compatible with high-speed transmission, but also waterproof to interface with the increasing number of camera units installed inside and outside the vehicle. To cater to these trending requirements, JAE has developed the MX66 Series low-profile, waterproof coaxial connectors conforming to the FAKRA standard, which is accepted worldwide as an in-vehicle high-frequency coaxial standard.

This product supports high-frequency transmission up to 3GHz (depending on implementation) and is available in different keying options conforming to the FAKRA standard. The different keying and insulator color options prevent mis-mating when using multiple connections on the same module.
Furthermore, it achieves the smallest-in-class size for a waterproof FAKRA connector, while offering superior waterproof sealing with its IPX9K standard equivalent performance. In addition to the standard straight plug, the right angle plug can be customized to any one of four different cable exit directions for front, rear, and side camera applications. In addition, it can be used for connections of antennas and communication modules for external communication.
