JAE Launches a Compact and High-Performance Antenna Compatible with the 6th Generation Wireless LAN Wi-Fi 6E

Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd (JAE) announced today the launch of the AN01ML27C00, a new variation of the compact and high-performance antenna AN01 series (*1), which is compatible with the 6th generation wireless LAN “Wi-Fi 6E.”
Wi-Fi is widely used as wireless data communication in homes, enterprises, and public places, and is expected to achieve higher speeds and larger capacities to meet the increased traffic demand. The 6th generation wireless LAN “Wi-Fi 6E” supports an additional 1.2 GHz from 5.925 to 7.125 GHz, and several countries around the world are considering making this new frequency band available to anyone without a license.
As a result, antennas used for Wi-Fi are required to support a wide bandwidth of up to 2 GHz, in addition to the conventional 2.4/5 GHz bands, as well as to be compact for easy installation and have high performance to ensure the coverage.
With this background, JAE has launched the tri-band antenna AN01ML27C00 that simultaneously covers three frequency bands from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, 5.15 to 5.85 GHz, and 5.925 to 7.125 GHz for Wi-Fi 6E, as a new variation of the compact and high-performance antenna AN01 series. The AN01ML27C00 antenna is 13 x 10.15 x 2 mm in size, which is almost the same as the currently available dual-band antenna AN01DL25C00. It also achieves a radiation efficiency as high as 85% at maximum in the supported frequency ranges, and has a near-omnidirectional radiation pattern (*3). Similar to other AN01 series antennas, it also supports automatic mounting and the reflow process, which contributes to reducing antenna installation costs.
JAE will continue to add variations to its antenna products to provide better wireless communication environments, and make proposals to meet its customers’ antenna usage conditions.
The AN01ML27C00 will be exhibited at “CEATEC 2021 ONLINE” from October 19, 2021.
