SG50 Series UHS-I/UHS-II SD Card Connectors for Industrial Applications Has Been Launched
April 6, 2022JAE has launched the SG50 Series of push-push full-size SD card connectors compatible with ultra high-speed data transfer standards UHS-I and UHS-II. These connectors are environmentally resistant and are ideal for use in industrial equipment such as robots and machine tools.

SD cards have traditionally been used as an external storage medium for compact devices such as PCs and digital cameras. Recently they are also starting to be used in production facilities for applications such as operations logging of industrial equipment. Such industrial equipment require compatibility with harsh environments including exposure to continuous vibration and shock.
These connectors have two points of contact per terminal* to improve resistance to foreign contaminants as well as high vibration and severe impacts. As it maintains high contact reliability over long periods of time, the SG50 Series is ideal for industrial equipment and other applications that require particularly high contact reliability and long service life.
In addition to a variant compatible with standard UHS-I or slower speed cards, there is a UHS-II compatible part available to support future upgrades to higher data speeds and higher capacity.

*Only pins 1 through 9 have two contact points.
