More Variations Available of KW02C Series, CHAdeMO-compliant EV Charging and Discharging Connectors
Expanded Product Lineup for North America and Japan Markets

JAE has added a product lineup to the KW02C Series, CHAdeMO (*1) specification-compliant EV charging and discharging connectors, which features improved waterproof performance and easier handling.
As the global trend toward decarbonization accelerates, the electrification of entire mobility systems, including passenger vehicles, is advancing and the EV charging infrastructure is expected to further expand into the future. EVs are also anticipated to function as backup power storage sources. A system which enables charging and discharging between power grids and homes, known as V2X (*2) systems, are also being built.
EV chargers are required to be placed in variety of location with diverse spacing allowances. They need to be compact enough to be installed in small spaces, easy to use by people of all ages, and have a larger current capacity to enable faster charging. To cater to these demands, JAE previously released the KW02C Series CE Certified Product (*4) (*5), a connector with a V2X ready cable while being approximately 20% lighter and more compact (*3) than conventional products, and capable of up to 37A output. JAE is expanding sales of this product in the European and Japanese markets.
JAE has developed an easy to use product with improved waterproof performance and increased cable flexibility, thereby expanding the product lineup. The V2X infrastructure trend is accelerating in the Japanese market and so for this market, JAE developed the KW02C Series JCS Standard-compatible Product (*6). For North America, one of the major EV markets, JAE has developed the KW02C Series UL Recognized Product. The UL Standards are product safety standards widely trusted in North America and around the world and aim to standardize functions and safety. To top, JAE developed a product that passed UL’s strict waterproof tests required for certification.
JAE will continue to meet a wide variety of customer needs with an extensive lineup of products in the KW Series EV charging and discharging connectors.
