JAE has developed a 0.35mm pitch, 1.9mm width, 0.7mm mating height stacking type board-to-board connector, the "WP27D Series." It incorporates power supply terminals and a robust structure that prevents damage during engagement.

 

::Background

Power consumption of small portable devices like smartphones, wearable devices and tablets is increasing due to their multi-functional capability and high performance. This requires connections with a larger current capacity.

 

The WP27D Series equips special hold-downs that can be used as high-current power supply terminals and adopts a structure that prevents insulator breakage by adding protection to the mating surface with these metal hold-downs. Accordingly, improvement of durability against damage during mating is achieved.

 

The WP27D Series saves board space and enhances design flexibility by installing the terminals for power supply and signals separately.

 

Furthermore, the WP27D Series is both drop impact and vibration resistant using a 2-point contact structure with proven results. It also improves workability for customers by providing a click feeling to their fingers when mated.
