New Release: DZ17 Series Single-pair Ethernet Connector
December 2, 2025
JAE has developed and released the DZ17 Series, single-pair Ethernet connector. This compact connector features a plug length of 25mm and enables tool-free wiring.

Overview
Single-pair Ethernet (SPE) is expected to gain widespread adoption into various industrial applications, such as use in robotics, sensors, and IoT devices, as well as internal wirings of building and office spaces. SPE significantly simplifies complex wiring by enabling power over data line (PoDL) transmission over a single twisted pair cable, replacing the traditional need for two or four pairs for Ethernet communication.
In light of this standardized development, JAE has introduced the DZ17 Series, space-saving SPE connector, which responds to the growing demand for smaller devices and simpler wiring. This product complies with the international IEEE 802.3cg, bw, bp, and ch communication standards, as well as the IEC 63171-6 connector standard. This next-generation Ethernet connector has been designed to facilitate seamless connectivity, with the aim of supporting smart factories and the Internet of Things (IoT) in the current global manufacturing industry. The DZ17 Series’ plug comes with a compact design of 25mm overall length, allowing for space-efficient integration. The connector series employs an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection) wiring method, a tool-free connection where wires are inserted into locators and pushed in by hand, enabling simple and rapid wiring capabilities in the field.
JAE is proud to be an active member of the international SPE connector consortium, SPE Industrial Partner Network, working closely with connector manufacturers and factory automation equipment makers to advance the development of compatible products. We also contribute to the promotion of SPE as a member of the Japanese domestic consortium, SPEC (SPE Consortium).
This product will be exhibited at the "2025 International Robot Exhibition" held at Tokyo Big Sight starting December 3rd.
