New Release: KN07 Series Compact, High-Density Composite Connectors for Industrial Robots
May 20, 2026
JAE has developed and released the "KN07 Series", a composite interface connector, for industrial robots, which achieves compact yet high-density design while improving safety and operability.

Overview
As advancements in factory automation (FA) continue to accelerate the automation of existing manufacturing facilities, robots are increasingly required to perform precisely in confined spaces to collaborate safely with humans. As a result, the importance of compact and space-saving robots has grown significantly.
In particular, collaborative robots—designed to operate in close proximity to people—demand human friendly designs that harmonize in the work environment, as well as enhanced safety for human-robot interaction. These requirements also extend to external interface connectors.
Conventional rectangular power connectors typically require large spaces to be installed into, making them difficult to integrate into compact robots and presenting challenges in suitability for collaborative environments.
The KN07 Series addresses these issues by achieving high-density miniaturization through optimization of the number of contacts used. Compared with conventional rectangular connectors commonly used for similar applications*, the KN07 Series significantly reduces both mounting footprint and overall volume.
With configurations of up to 72 contacts—combining power and signal contacts—the series supports a wide range of industrial robots, from small to medium sizes.
In addition, the KN07 Series features a rounded, streamlined design that takes into account the operating environment of collaborative robots, enhancing both human affinity and safety. The one-touch locking mechanism, which securely mates the plug to the receptacle by simple insertion, provides tactile confirmation of proper connection while enabling easy unmating, thereby improving usability and maintainability.
By allowing flexible selection of contact types and contact configurations—including options for high-current power and high-density signal transmission—the KN07 Series meets diverse application needs and contributes to the ongoing miniaturization and space-saving design of next-generation industrial and collaborative robots.
