Challenges in Handling High-current Equipment
The introduction of energy storage systems, to store clean energy and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to prepare for power failures, is progressing rapidly. In recent years, there have been an increasing number of cases where high currents are being handled by various equipment, such as AGVs and robots.
This chapter introduces challenges and solutions commonly encountered in high-current equipment.
Challenges
- Need to hybridize signals, for checking battery cell status, together with the simplification of the battery module connection
- Use cable connection to the battery module, but with fear of mis mating and short-circuit accidents
- Minimal space for screwed connection to the busbar conductor
