New Release: DW15 Series, Connector for Autonomous Charging of Self-propelled Robots
February 17, 2026
JAE has developed and launched the sales of DW15 Series floating connectors, which enables autonomous charging of self-propelled robots.

Overview
There has been a growing popularity in automation and labor-saving initiatives in manufacturing and logistics warehouses. While the utilization of self-propelled robots are gaining traction for their ease of implementation, ensuring their stable operation poses a critical challenge as the reliability of automatic charging directly impacts operational efficiency and uptime.
To address these market needs JAE has developed the DW15 Series floating connector for autonomous charging. It employs a unique floating mechanism and a contact structure using busbars* to enable reliable autonomous mating and rapid charging.
The connector utilizes a double-floating mechanism where both the socket-side connector's insulator and the contact inside the insulator can move which provides dual misalignment compensation occurring while mating between the self-propelled robot and the charging station. The mechanism accommodates the connectors to mate from vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and oblique directions, reliably guiding the busbar to achieve high contact reliability and stable power delivery. The adoption of a busbar configuration, which utilizes a wide contact surface, also achieves high adaptability to angular misalignment that is difficult for pin-type connectors. This ensures secure mating for efficient and consistent power delivery.
The connector’s installation onto equipment features a simple four-point screw-mounting structure. This eliminates the need for complex floating mechanisms like springs or bearings on the equipment side, which can contribute to less efficient design and increased implementation costs.
The connector also ensures high durability by withstanding over 10,000 mating cycles. This maintains stable charging even in self-propelled robots operating over long periods, contributing to improved overall equipment uptime. For applications requiring even longer life, our proprietary "wearzerO™" technology can be applied as an option. This new technology significantly reduces wear on the silver-plated film of the electrical connection.

*Busbar: A plate-shaped metal conductor for efficiently distributing and collecting electricity. A structure widely used in power equipment and electrical devices due to its ability to stably handle high currents.
