Vertical Mount USB Type-C™ Connector Added to DX07 Series

JAE has added a surface mount (SMT) vertical receptacle to the USB Type-C DX07 Series connector line-up. It will be made available to customers as part of the "DX07 Series" family of products, along with compatible plug connectors and cable harnesses.

The USB Type-C connectors are widely used as an interface standard for PCs, smartphones, mobile devices, audiovisual devices, and gaming machines.

Along with the spread of the Type-C interface, their usage in a wider variety of applications is increasing including applications such as MFPs (multifunction printers), power banks (mobile batteries). These applications are better suited for vertical mount receptacle connectors.

Furthermore, expansion of the applications are leading to the requirements for connectors with compatibility with various PCB thicknesses.

To cater to these needs, JAE has developed and launched an all SMT type that can be mounted to any board regardless of the thickness because all terminals are surface mount.

A different variant with through hole DIP shell hold downs is also available for better board retention.

As a manufacturer who has taken part in the development and standardization of the USB Type-C specification, JAE will continuously work to expand product variations of receptacles, plugs, and cable harnesses in the DX07 Series

Examples of Use

Example of Use image of DX07 Series. Vertical Type, posseble to mount on any place on board. Horizontal Type, mounting is limited to the edges of board. Allows for cable exit not only from the side but also, from the back surface fo devices such as monitors, and TVs. Enables improvement of operation, space-saving, and wiring flexibility, for internal connection of devices such as MFP, and POS terminals, which install both horizontal and vertical boards.
