Regarding unauthorized access to our servers (third report)

As previously announced in press releases dated November 6 and December 4, 2023, our company's group servers experienced unauthorized access from an external party on November 2, 2023. Following the confirmation of the unauthorized access, we promptly implemented emergency measures and established a task force to investigate the extent of the damage and proceed with recovery operations in collaboration with external experts.The following is the facts that came to light as a result of the investigation and our response.
●Investigation Results
The unauthorized access was initiated through a ransomware attack which occurred after our group employees accessed a legitimate external website related to our business, which was compromised. This incident resulted in the encryption of files within the server and the partial leakage of information stored on servers at our overseas subsidiary JAE Oregon, Inc. (Oregon, U.S.) We have confirmed that no information leakage has occurred from other locations apart from JAE Oregon.
●Our response to the situation
Upon confirming the unauthorized access, we implemented emergency measures such as network isolation to prevent further damage. We have also been conducting an investigation into the extent of the damage and carrying out recovery operations with the assistance of external experts. Based on the investigation results, we have already implemented security enhancements. Furthermore, the affected data and systems are being restored in a sequential manner, with the aim of completing the recovery by the end of March this year.
We have individually reported to potentially affected customers and business partners, and the relevant authorities have also been notified.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers, business partners, and concerned parties. We will continue to strengthen our security measures and take all possible measures to prevent a recurrence.
