Enabling V2G Charging Solutions in an Electrified Society – KW21A
Electric vehicles offer an exciting, environmentally conscious future, driving technological advancements and changing the “fuelling” habits of consumers. Electric vehicles offer the opportunity to top up the range of a vehicle at a variety of locations, fitting into individual’s consumer patterns.
To fit these patterns, EV Chargers are required in every location where electric vehicles will be present, including homes, offices, urban areas, EV Charging Hubs, and highways. The EV Chargers power and functionality can be optimised for each location’s specific requirements.
Practical Adoption of the Next Generation of EV Charging
As the movement to electric vehicles grows exponentially, the demand on electric vehicle charging and the power distribution grows. Electric vehicles will play an important part contributing the smart grids as they function as large power storage systems that enable charging and discharging. The bi-directional charging of electrical vehicles are best served with low power DC charging to maximize energy efficiency. Using a low power continuous connection between the vehicle and home can enable the opportunity to charge electric vehicles with the lowest cost energy, and support the home and grid at time of high demand, when and where desired.
To support this JAE has developed a range of robust V2G compatible CHAdeMO and CCS2 connectors to support direct current charging solutions for 40A or 80A.
KW21A Product Specifications
The KW21A charging cables from JAE are designed to be IEC 62196-3 standard compliant charging cables. These charging cables are designed for up to 40A or 80A solutions, enabling compact, light and flexible designs to be integrated into any low power DC Charger.
Participating in Global Electric Vehicle Charging Organisations
JAE Participates in the global associations dedicated to the development of compatible solutions for Electric vehicle charging. JAE has been a member of the CHAdeMO organization since 2010, which develops the CHAdeMO technology. JAE has also been a member of the CHARIN Association since 2016, which continues to promote the adoption of a Combined Charging System (CCS).
