Eco-friendly Products

Product-Related Efforts

Eco-friendly efforts starting from the design stage are underway in order to reduce environmental impact at each stage, from product manufacturing and use to disposal.
In product design, materials with low toxicity are being used, and products are being made more energy efficient. And in mold design, other eco-friendly efforts are being pursued, including improving the utilization rate of mold materials and increasing the life of the molds themselves.
The eco-friendly efforts for each product are introduced below.

Connectors

(1)Conserving resources through product design 
In contrast with conventional products, adding a dedicated terminal for a power source obviated the need for a signal terminal used for the power source. In this way, the number of parts was reduced to realize resource conservation.

 

(2)Customer energy savings through product specifications
Reducing the number of contacts in the signal terminal means less space is taken up by the power source, contributing to compact boards and equipment chassis. In addition, it saves on resources as it uses less device configuration materials and it realizes energy savings.

 

(3)Customer energy savings by product delivery format
Delivering products in embossed taping enables auto mounting and contributes to production efficiency.

 

(4)Eco-friend specifications(RoHS directive-compliant products)
Lead-free solder is used for soldered contacts and no substances banned by the RoHS directive are used.

 

User Interface Solutions
LCD touch panels (UT3 series)

(1) Reduction in usage of environmentally hazardous substances 
In addition to the use of lead-free solder alloy and the adoption of trivalent chromium surface processing and other measures for RoHS Directive compliance, the adoption of LED backlighting made it possible to eliminate mercury.

 

(2)Lowering electricity consumption when power is not needed
Installation of an auto power save function lowers electricity consumption when not in use. 

 
Motion Sensing & Control Solutions
Camera Stabilizer ACE-RX1

(1)Camera stabilizers installed with visible and infrared cameras to be equipped on helicopters. 
This is a camera stabilizer that is simultaneously equipped with infrared cameras and high-vision cameras used on helicopter platforms, such as those used by fire departments.

(2)Acquisition of clear, stable images
This provides support for the acquisition of clear images and activities that take place in conditions of poor visibility, as well as emergency searches and disaster sights, regardless of whether it is day or night.

(3)Labor-saving equipment installation
Configured in two units so that the camera stabilizer is easy to slip on, this saves effort during installation.

(4)A product able to perform under conditions of disaster prevention, mitigation
This product is oriented toward disaster prevention or mitigation and is to be put to use on the site of natural disasters and other difficult conditions.
